Three vocalists from BCHS competed over the weekend in a state-wide music competition, and earned three gold awards.
The Indiana State School Music Association sponsored its annual competition for musicians in grade school through high school. Students performed songs in front of a judge who assessed their work and gave them a score. The awards from the scores run from gold to participation. BCHS sent three vocalists to the competition and all three earned gold awards. Lucy Horlander, sophomore, was half a point from a perfect score. Jenna Graham, junior, wanted to do the competition because her grandmother competed in it when she was in high school. Graham said, “It taught me to have pride in my voice and to not be shy.” Charlie Wessel, senior, also competed and won gold. By Victoria Toetz
