Students prepare for spring musical auditions

As the second semester begins, preparation for the spring musical, “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” is also beginning. Theatre is a great way to meet new people and to display theatrical skills on stage. “Being a part of theatre is a whole new experience from anything else at BCHS. It feels like family and everyone is accepting to anyone who joins,” said Gillian Fouse, junior. Fouse played Snow White in the fall play and has been involved in BCHS theatre since her freshman year. On Jan. 25-26 auditions for the musical will be taking place. Anyone can audition whether or not they have been in the play before. There will be six main characters cast and the number of chorus members will be dependent upon how many people audition.

The audition includes a one minute monologue and 16 bars (verse and chorus) of a song both prepared by the person auditioning. An MP3 or cd must accompany the song. Dance evaluations will be done on Jan. 26 and callbacks will be done on Jan. 27. Those who audition on Jan. 25 must return the next day for the dance evaluation. To reserve an audition time, go to to complete an actor application. Crew sign up will be done after the show is cast. Any questions can be asked to Mr. Kyle Guyton, theatre arts director.
