Due to an ice storm, students will have an elearning day rather than attend class in person.  Vice principal of academics Mrs. Ann Taylor provided some answers to questions regarding the day. She expects the day to be productive for both students and faculty.

What is the purpose of an eLearning Day?

An eLearning day allows for instruction and learning to continue for a student at home in the event of an unexpected loss of a regularly scheduled school day.

Ok, so I am at home…what am I expected to do?

To begin learning, log into Canvas.

Fyi….Many teachers will have things ready for you. Feel free to work ahead. Your decision. 🙂

What’s next?

Remember…you are responsible for all classes that were regularly scheduled for the missed school day. (So…for Nov. 16-periods 4, 5, 6, 7, 1, 2)

Teachers will post all learning objectives, course content and the attendance form in Canvas by 9 a.m.

How will my teachers take attendance?

Teachers will be taking attendance via a Canvas quiz form.

You are required to complete an attendance form for each class. Each teacher will post the attendance form on their Canvas page. Failure to do so will result in being marked unexcused for that particular class and work submitted will not receive credit.

You must complete the attendance form by 2p.m. on the eLearning Day.

Will my work be graded?

Yes. All student work will be graded and recorded in Powerschool. You are required to submit all coursework as defined by your teachers.

When is my work due?

Work is due at the date and time that is defined by the teacher.

What if I have a question?

All teachers are available for questions between 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. via email or discussion board. Teachers will make every effort to answer questions within one hour.

How should I prepare for eLearning Day?

Be certain you know how to access Canvas from home.

Check your ipad. Can it be charged? Is it operating correctly? See the Tech counter if you need help.

If you need assistance with home internet access, please see the tech counter.

Ask a teacher if you have any additional questions.
