With the play ending and One Acts right around the corner, BCHS theatre does not rest. One Acts are a newer tradition that allow students to try acting while having a smaller role and time commitment. Auditions begin after school on Tuesday, Oct. 31. For the audition, theater director Ms. Brianne Lindsey asks that each individual have a one minute comedic monologue prepared that does not need to be memorized but this is preferred. Cast lists will be sent out later the evening of Oct. 31. If selected the first read thru will take place the following day, Nov. 1.

Rehearsals will run Monday through Thursday, beginning Nov. 6 to Nov. 30. On Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays rehearsals will take place from 3:30 to 5 p.m. and on Wednesdays they will be from 3:30-4:30. Thanksgiving break will be an exception and no rehearsals will be held. The plays will be performed multiple times on Saturday Dec. 2.

Each One Act will be directed by pairs of seniors:

  • Beth Myers and Allan Schneider
  • Fiona Mulchahy and Blake Brown
  • Jared Faul and Edward Gramling
  • Ashley Chamberlain and Grace Molenda
  • Chloe Fellwock and Rachel Smith

Senior director Ashley Chamberlain encourages people to try out. Chamberlain said, “It is perfect for people who have never done theatre because it’s chill and has very little commitment.”
