Student Union will be selling Candy Grams for two dollars during lunch periods until Tuesday, Feb. 12. The Candy Grams will be delivered on the following Wednesday Feb. 14, which is Valentine’s Day. Senior Student Union member Bryanna Richardson said, “We plan to put the profits towards future plans for the club, especially our events for Black History Month.” Richardson continued and said, “This will help us gain funds we need to do our yearly activities or events and new activities or events we plan to do.”

On the BCHS website it says, “BCSU is an active, long standing BCHS organization guided by students to accomplish an appreciation of diversity within the BCHS student body and community.” They continue to write, “Our mission is to install a credible and reliable understanding of diversity in the BCHS community, by providing opportunities for philanthropy, community outreach, and incorporating students of all ethnicities.”

Black History Month is February and is sponsored by Student Union. They are planning to put on multiple events and activities to celebrate the historical culture of the African-American community.
