After four very successful years of playing varsity basketball, senior Moira McGinley has broken the school record for points with 1,394. McGinley broke this record in last weekend’s sectional matchup against Heritage Christian, when the Trojans defeated them for the third time this season.

McGinley began her career at Chatard as an instant starter and star, putting up big stats regularly. Over the last four years she has led the team and continued to do so through their strong tournament run. McGinley said, “I have been extremely fortunate to play for such a great program with supportive teammates and coaches throughout my four years.” While the Trojans were narrowly defeated in the regional championship, they had a historic season to remember, winning the city championship for the first time in school history. McGinley also said, “My biggest takeaway from Chatard basketball is how important the relationships I made, it has given me some of my best friends and unforgettable memories.”

With such an impressive record, inevitably comes a legacy that will be intact for years at Chatard. “I hope that I am remembered as not only a good basketball player, but a good teammate and leader,” McGinley said. She will be remembered at Chatard as a basketball, golf, and track star, as well as a great person.
