The Bishop Chatard theatre program is very excited to announce that the spring 2021 musical will be Footloose. This story illustrates the life of Ren McCormack, a teenager from Chicago, moving to a small town where he lives with his mother, aunt, and uncle. Through this entertaining musical, it depicts a tale of change and fitting in through a enthralling story.

Last year’s spring musical, Guys and Dolls, was sadly cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic protocols. Therefore, the Bishop Chatard theatre program is ecstatic to hit the stage once again this spring. Junior Anthony Cates said, “It was practically a miracle that we were able to do the fall play at all, so knowing that we still get to do a musical is truly incredible.”

Just like in this year’s fall play, Almost, Maine, the show will be performed similar in the format with the use of the gym floor. In addition, parts of the performance will also be on the main stage.

The dates of the performances are set for April 15-17. Auditions will be held in the upcoming month of January with more information being released on the BCHS theatre department twitter, @BCHS_Theatre.
