Deacon Rick explains retreat updates

Two years ago, sophomores had an overnight retreat at CYO Camp Rancho Framasa. The retreat is still at Camp Rancho Framasa, but is now only a day trip. Deacon Rick Wagner said, “There is still physical activity, but the focus has become more about reflection.” With this shift students will spend less time just relaxing, but more time in meditation. Senior Sara Englert said, “I really liked the overnight stay and felt I bonded with my class and the upper classmen working it, but I know there were troubles with the overnight. I think as long as the sophomores get to do all the activities, the essence of the retreat is the same.” Each year campus ministry reviews the retreats and finds how to make them work so that students can get the most out of the experience.
