On Mon. May 6, Bishop Chatard will host a Celebration of the Arts to honor the talented students within each of the various fine arts departments. There will be a performance by student musicians as well as display of photography, ceramics, painting, drawing, 2D and 3D art and digital design, all products of BCHS students. Art teacher Ms. Jaydene O’Donoghue looks forward to showcasing her students work. “Making art is an opportunity for creatives to share their wok and their talents,” she said.

The displays will be open from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with the choir and band performance at 7 p.m., both in the main gym. Those in attendance will also have a unique opportunity to be involved throughout the night. Guests will have the chance to participate in interactive art experiences including helping design a new BCHS mural, creating a keepsake print using an antique printing press from the late 1800s or watching a visiting artist throwing on the pottery wheel. Guests of all ages are invited to the Celebration of the Arts and admittance is free.
