On Monday April 28, Mr. Bob McLain shared his past and current experiences as a meteorologist to Mr. Huffman’s Earth Space classes. Mr. McLain focused on extreme weather events such as tornados and hurricanes. His talk unfortunately coincided with the opening of the 2014 United States deadly tornado season as a powerful twister claimed 14 lives in Arkansas that very morning. Mr. McLain has kept a continuous record of daily weather observations in Indianapolis and reports these measurements each night at midnight to a climate data center in North Carolina. On May 6, 2014, Mr. McLain reached the milestone of 30 years worth of uninterrupted daily weather reports.
